AIG Rumblings

All the bru- ha -ha about AIG is reason for all of us to examine ourselves. Should we keep it real or should we just join the choir and sing the song of bashing, condemnation and anger. Should we put the issues in perspective?
Yes!!I believe that the issues need to be put in proper perepective. Of course the situation is messy! My opinion is that, many of us, had we been workers at AIG and we were offered these breath taking benefits (or are they holding fees)? Indeed those fabulous retainer fees would have us wanting to hang on to dear life to be employees of these companies. Truthfully if many of us received these offers we certainly would rush to close these contracts by accepting without even thinking of any possible repercussions.
The nature of most human beings hovewer, is to join the crowd and be a part of the idea that is popular. If the shoe was on the other foot the temptation would be too great for us to decline an offer that has any resemblance of a crook.

  1. I agree that such a temptation would be hard to deny, however we all have a moral obligation to help rebuild our country's economy not add to it's downfall. The AIG situation was an example of pure greed and an eye opening look into the psyche of the rich. Well-to-do people who were willing to rob this nation in order to increase their already substantial wealth. At a time when the nation is fighting through its worst economic crisis, the rich continue to detach themselves from reality and add to the economic strain. How much do they need?
